One of the most highly sought-after study abroad destinations, England is a dynamic country that is home to some of the world's most picturesque scenery, iconic cities, traditional villages and an extensive and fascinating history. MSUB students can study in one of three universities in England, all of which offer unique and tailored experiences. Winchester and Bath Spa are located in southwestern England while UCLan is located in northern England, close to Manchester.
Winchester
University of Winchester
Exchange Programs
The University of Winchester is one of MSUB's most popular and oldest exchange programs.
It offers a myriad of programs that can fit into most students' plans of study. It
is particularly suitable and popular among students studying literature, education,
history, and social sciences. Winchester is an ancient city that has been inhabited
since prehistoric times and it gained regional prominence during the Roman occupation.
The city is well known for its beautifully preserved architecture, most notably the medieval Winchester Cathedral, as well as its vibrant student atmosphere. The University
of Winchester offers exchanges for one semester and on a case-by-case basis, students
can study there for up to one year.
Bath
Bath Spa University
Exchange Programs
Bath Spa University is a prime destination for students studying the arts and music.
Bath Spa was founded as a school of art but has since expanded into other fields of
study, namely liberal arts. Bath Spa is one of the most highly ranked universities
in the United Kingdom. Bath Spa has several beautiful campuses that are made up of
retrofitted castles. The university is situated on the edge of Bath, England, which
is so named for its historic Roman-built bath houses. The city is a world heritage
site. Bath is also home to a variety of prestigious museums and galleries. MSUB students
can study at Bath Spa for one semester and on a case-by-case basis, up to one year.
Preston
University of Lancashire
Exchange Programs
University of Lancashire is MSUB's newest partner in England and is the 19th largest
institution in the United Kingdom with just under 27,000 students. Although University
of Lancashire offers a variety of programs suitable for all MSUB students, this exchange
is uniquely geared toward students studying Outdoor Adventure Leadership (OAL). University
of Lancashire is located in Preston, which is the capital of the northern county of
Lancashire. The city has a long history and rich culture intermingled with a vibrant
student lifestyle and a deeply rooted passion for football (soccer). Exchange programs
at University of Lancashire may require students to stay for a full year since many
programs are based upon one-year courses versus a semester system. OAL students must
stay for the full year in order to complete the program requirements.
