International Student Orientation
The International Student Orientation gives new MSUB students the tools they need to be successful at MSUB and studying in the U.S. It also offers a great opportunity to engage with the Office of International Studies team and meet other incoming students. In addition to information sessions, students will also be encouraged to participate in group activities, social events, possible excursions and more.
The International Student Orientation is MANDATORY and MUST be attended by all new international students.
The Spring 2026 International Student Orientation is scheduled for January 7 - 8, 2026. Please plan to arrive in Billings and check in to the residence halls between January 3 - 6, 2026. The full orientation schedule will be posted at a later date.
What to Bring to the Orientation:
- I-20 (F-1 Students) or DS-2019 (J-1 Students)
- Passport & Visa
- Copy of health insurance coverage
- International Student Immunization Form
- Notebook & Pen or Pencil
- Phone (if available)

Virtual Pre-Departure Orientation will be held via Webex. This session will include both J-1 exchange students as well as F-1 degree seeking students.
This session will cover pre-arrival requirements, arrival expectations, international student orientation, course registration, and international student guidelines for the fall semester. It will also provide an opportunity to address any questions you may have before you depart for MSU Billings and the U.S.
